Q. My buddy told me about an 800 number to call to get a deer tag in Unit 45. Is this something you guys are doing at Fish and Game? A. No way. Fish and Game offices have taken a flurry of calls recently with callers describing a variety of offers involving particularly desirable deer tags. The one thing almost all callers mentioned was a requirement that they give their Social Security numbers. We hope that not a lot of people fell for this scam, obviously aimed at identity theft.
