Idaho Fish and Game

Anglers Encouraged to Attend Fish and Game Public Meetings

idfg-nnokkentved
The Idaho Department of Fish and Game has scheduled a series of public meetings throughout southeast Idaho to gather public comment in preparation for setting the 2011-2012 fishing seasons and rules. The public is invited to attend any of the following scoping meetings scheduled throughout the region during the month of April. All meetings begin at 6:30 p.m.:
  • April 13 - Larsen-Sant Library, Preston.
  • April 15 - Soda Springs Senior Center, Soda Springs.
  • April 20 - American Falls High School auditorium, American Falls.
  • April 21 - National Oregon-California Trail Center, Montpelier.
  • April 22 - North Fork Room of Idaho State University Pond Student Union Building, Pocatello.
Fish and Game wants the public to share ideas regarding fishing regulations, fisheries management and angling opportunity as part of the agency's rule setting process. And this will be the first chance for the public to see and comment on a draft version of a new regulations format, which will hopefully be easier to use and understand. With this information, Fish and Game will develop a set of proposals to be presented to the Idaho Fish and Game Commission for its review. Any ideas that become official proposals will be presented to the public at a later date, and any that are adopted would take effect in 2011. Public comment is crucial to Fish and Game's rule making process. But for those who cannot attend a meeting, comments may also be submitted to David Teuscher, regional fisheries manager for Fish and Game's southeast region, via e-mail at david.teuscher@idfg.idaho.gov or by calling 208-232-4703. Individuals with disabilities may request meeting accommodations by contacting David Teuscher at the Idaho Department of Fish and Game at 208-232-4703 or through the Idaho Relay Service at 1-800-377-3529 (TDD).
