500 yellow rainbow trout stocked in area lakes

JEROME - Wanting to hook a unique fish or just looking for a weekend of fun, try catching one of the 500 yellow rainbow trout stocked last week in Dierkes or Crystal lakes. Yellow rainbow trout are the same as their colorful cousins, but are basically albino - they lack skin colors that are normally found in rainbow trout. "They are a novelty fish, and are big," said Doug Megargle, Fish and Game's Magic Valley Regional Fisheries manager. "The trout we stocked were donated by Idaho Trout Processor's from their broodstock program. They are big fish, weighing in at about four pounds each." To give more anglers an opportunity to catch one of the fish, Fish and Game employees spread the fish out in the region, stocking 350 at Dierkes and 150 fish at Crystal lakes.
