October 5th 2017, Opening Day of the Unit 54 rifle deer hunt. 21 degrees to start a beautiful crisp fall day in Southern Idaho. Officer Doug Meyer was able to take these photos as he worked the Bostetter area and spoke with hunters. Along with great scenery this area holds many types of big game. Although not pictured, Meyer also viewed two big horn sheep, a cow moose, and several small groups of deer. All of this before noon and only a short drive from home. Get out and enjoy the wonders of the Magic Valley whether hunting or just taking in the sites of fall!
