Second Chance for Tags

Hunters with no luck in the regular draw for deer, elk, bear and antelope still have some chances for controlled hunt tags.
Any person successful in drawing a controlled hunt permit for deer, elk, fall bear or antelope must purchase it by August 1 at a license vendor or Fish and Game office. All unclaimed permits and leftover tags, (does not include unlimited hunts) will be available for a second drawing with an application period of August 5-15.
The drawing will be August 20 and any leftover permits will go on sale August 25. Applicants for leftovers who already have a general-season tag in possession must return it to a Fish and Game office to be exchanged for the appropriate controlled hunt tag.
