Idaho's furbearers are the subject of a wildlife program set for November 13 in Boise. Wildlife Technician Gina Patton will present a furbearer program Saturday, November 13 at 1 p.m. in the Nature Center auditorium at 600 South Walnut. Tickets are $3 per person. Tickets for the show are available at the door. Call 287-2901 for details. The program will include discussion of Idaho's furbearers, their habitat, dwellings and funny habits. The audience will have a chance to see and touch the skulls and pelts of these fascinating animals. Idaho has nine furbearers that are harvested including beaver, bobcat, fox, mink and river otter. Idaho also has several furbearers that are protected because of their rarity. Patton is an expert on river otters and will provide facts about river otters and their role in our environment. River otters are an apex predator, with a diet comprised mainly of fish.
