idfg-staff
LEWISTON - The Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG) reminds future hunters 14 years or older, that both the on-line and home study hunter education courses offer a convenient way to fulfill Idaho's hunter education requirement. Both courses are designed to allow students to do much of the course at their convenience and are ideal for busy students, shift workers, business travelers or students needing extra time to study. In addition to the course work, all independent home study and online students must pre-register and attend a one-day course completion class where they will receive Idaho-specific training and be required to pass the written exam, and field and live fire exercises required of all hunter education students. The home study student manual, workbook and materials may be obtained for a $30.00 refundable deposit from the IDFG office located at 1540 Warner Avenue in Lewiston. The online course and the pre-certification exam are available through IDFG's website at http://hunter-ed.com/id/. Upon successful completion of the exam, students will be able to print a certificate of course completion. There is a $15.00 examination fee for the Pre-Certification Exam and certificate, which is paid directly online. The next course completion class is scheduled for Saturday, January 8, 2005 in Lewiston. To register for this class, students must show the pre-certification exam certificate from the on-line course or have already completed the home study course workbook. The registration fee for the course completion class is $8.00 payable to IDFG before January 8.
