IDAHO FALLS - When it comes to managing IdahoÕs wildlife resources, the comments and opinions of hunters are important. To hear what hunters have to say, Idaho Department of Fish and Game will host a series of public meetings throughout the region. The major topics will be what hunters saw in the field this fall, and what type of big game management they would like to suggest for the future. ÒThis first round of scoping meetings is intended to sound out the public on ideas for how they might like to see future big game issues addressed,Ó regional wildlife manager Daryl Meints said. Department staff also will be on hand to explain recent decisions on hunting equipment, such as muzzleloaders and archery. The meetings are the first chance hunters will have to be heard, but not the last. A second round of meetings is planned in February at the same locations to present proposals drawn from the first set of meetings. Meeting schedule: (All meetings start at 7 p.m.) - Tuesday, January 30, Arco High School Library, Arco. - Wednesday, January 31, Fish and Game regional office, Idaho Falls. - Thursday, February 1, Madison County Senior CitizenÕs Center, Rexburg. Individuals with disabilities may request meeting accommodations by contacting Daryl Meints at Fish and Game at 525-7290 or through the Idaho Relay Service at 1-800-377-3529(TDD).
