Idaho Fish and Game's proposed changes for the 2019 & 2020 big game hunting seasons are now available online for public review and comment.
The proposals for deer, elk, pronghorn, black bear, mountain lion and gray wolf are listed by region and are available at: https://idfg.idaho.gov/rules/big-game/19-20-proposals. Only those seasons and hunts for which changes are proposed are listed. All others will remain the same as they were during the 2017 & 2018 hunting seasons.
The deadline for submitting comments goes through midnight February 24.
Fish and Game also has scheduled open house meetings in Salmon and Challis where those interested can visit with department personnel about the proposals and provide written comments. The open house in Salmon will be held Feb. 19 at the Fish and Game Office on Highway 93 North, followed by an open house in Challis on Feb. 20 at the Community Event Center. Both open houses will run from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Individuals with disabilities may request meeting accommodations by contacting the Salmon Region Fish and Game office at 208-756-2271 or through the Idaho Relay Service at 1-800-368-6185 (TDD).
All comments received by the deadline will be summarized and presented to the Idaho Fish and Game Commission prior to their March 13 meeting in Boise where big game seasons will be set.
