JEROME - Rick Hartley, of Jerome, was named "Hunter Education Instructor of the Year" for 2004 by the Magic Valley Region Idaho Department of Fish and Game. Hartley has been teaching since 1999, and has helped more than 400 students to obtain hunting licenses. "I enjoy doing something good for the future of hunting", Hartley said. "My goal is to put safe, responsible hunters in the field who respect nature". Hartley is an avid big game hunter, and loves pursuing elk with either his rifle or bow. He is a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and is also a reservist for the Idaho Department of Fish and Game since 1999. Rick is employed by the Gooding Seed Company as a crop consultant. He and his wife Debbie have three children, Cammie, Kirsten and Chardon. Hartley is one of 106 regional volunteer instructors in the Magic Valley Region.
