Fort Boise Boat Ramp to Close for Renovation

idfg-staff
The boat ramp at Fort Boise Wildlife Management Area - a popular launch site for anglers and duck hunters - will be closed beginning July 15 for renovation work. "During the three-month renovation project, the ramp will receive a complete overhaul," Fish and Game utility craftsman Dennis Hardy noted. "The concrete ramp blocks will be pulled and replaced with a poured concrete boat ramp, the parking area will be graded for drainage, and a new toilet facility will be installed." All the improvements will bring the area in line with ADA standards. The $30,000 project price tag is being funded by federal dollars through the Sport Fish and Wildlife Restoration Act, also known as the Dingell-Johnson act. October 15 is the target date for project completion, just in time for the waterfowl season. During the renovation period, boaters should use the Hexon Road boat ramp (upstream) or the Nyssa bridge boat ramp (downstream on the Oregon side).
