Idaho’s Free Fishing Day is Saturday, June 13. All Fish & Game hosted events have been cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns. While many public waters have been stocked as in years past, the following Panhandle locations will not receive fish in 2020.
No stocking, no event:
- Ponderosa Springs Golf Course
- Rathdrum City Park
- Priest Lake Golf Course
- Snow Creek (Lion's Den) Pond
Hatchery staff have been diligently stocking many other Family Fishing Waters over the last three months. Popular spots like Fernan Lake (Coeur d’Alene), Falls Park Pond (Post Falls), Spicer Pond (St. Maries), and Smith Lake (Bonners Ferry) each received between 1,000 to 15,000 catchable-sized trout prior to June 9.
A complete list of stocked waters in the Panhandle is available online at idfg.idaho.gov/stocking. Free Fishing Day allows people to fish in Idaho without a license. All other fishing regulations and Recreate Responsibly Idaho guidelines still apply. Kids age 13 and under can fish for free year-round.
