Fish and Game Seeks Help with Moose Case

idfg-staff
MOSCOW - The Idaho Department of Fish and Game is seeking information concerning the recent shooting and wasting of a mature bull moose on the north side of Moscow mountain. The entire moose was left to waste and was believed to have been shot on Monday, October 10, the opening day of elk and deer season. The shooters probably accessed the area from the Hatter Creek road. Fish and Game encourages anyone who observed suspicious activity in the area to please contact law enforcement authorities. "We would appreciate talking to anyone who was in the area who may have seen something suspicious," said Barry Cummings, Sr. conservation officer. "The more pieces of the puzzle we have, the better our chances of making the case and apprehending the violator." According to Cummings, all outdoor enthusiasts, especially hunters, should keep their eyes open to suspicious activity while hunting. If they see something that doesn't look right, get a license plate or write the information down just in case they find out later that something was wrong. Anyone with information about the wasting of this moose can call their local conservation officer, the Latah County Sheriff's office, or the Citizens Against Poaching hotline at 1-800-632-5999. Callers may remain anonymous and a reward is offered for information leading to the apprehension of the violator.
