Controlled Burn Planned for Craig Mountain

When conditions are favorable, State and Federal land management agencies will conduct controlled burning activities on the Craig Mountain Wildlife Management Area north and west of the Madden Corral. This interagency prescribed burning will be used as a tool to improve wildlife habitat in areas affected by the Chimney Complex Fire of 2007. Madden Corral is located along the Zaza Road in the central portion of the Craig Mountain Wildlife Management Area south of Lewiston. Recreationists planning to utilize this area are advised to use extreme caution, with increased traffic, dense smoke and low visibility likely.
