Controlled Burn Planned for Craig Mountain

LEWISTON - If conditions are favorable, State and Federal land management agencies will conduct a controlled burn in the Madden Creek drainage October 11th through October 14th. Madden Creek is located in the northern portion of the Caption John drainage of the Craig Mountain Wildlife Management Area south of Lewiston. Recreationists planning to utilize this area are advised to use extreme caution. Agency personnel may be in motorized vehicles behind locked gates. The purpose is to improve wildlife habitat and reduce the risk of wildfire to private property.
