Commission Meets November 17-19

The first plan for managing white-tailed deer as a separate species may be approved by the Idaho Fish and Game Commission at a meeting set for November 17-19 in Orofino. The Commission will meet at the Helgeson Hotel at 125 Johnson Avenue in Orofino. The first session will be an information workshop set to begin at 1 p.m. November 17 and cover information on issues including controlled hunt preference points. A public hearing will begin at 7 p.m. at the Ponderosa Restaurant located at 220 Michigan Avenue. The main session begins at 8 a.m. November 18. Commission action is expected on Access Yes! tag lottery sales, the white-tailed deer plan and the strategic plan for department operations over the next 15 years, among others Both the white-tailed deer plan and the strategic plan have been through lengthy public reviews. The Commission will elect a chair and vice chair for the coming year.
