Commission Meets in Boise January 19-21

The Idaho Fish and Game Commission will meet in Boise January 19-21 to set seasons for moose, mountain goats and bighorn sheep as well as consider the adoption of revised plans for white-tailed deer and long-term department strategies. The Commission will begin the January session with an informational workshop beginning at 11:30 a.m. January 19 before meeting at 1:30 p.m. with Idaho legislators in the House Resources Committee. All Commission business except for the meeting with the House committee will be conducted in the Trophy Room at Fish and Game headquarters, 600 South Walnut in Boise. A public hearing is set for 7 p.m. The Commission will consider department recommendations on moose, mountain goat and bighorn hunting seasons that include some increased opportunity. Recommendations on revised versions of the white-tailed deer plan and strategic plan will also be considered. Non-biological regulations-those not related to seasons or limits-on deer, elk, antelope, bear and mountain lion are up for discussion and action January 20. Commissioners will review department programs on January 21 before attending the Senate confirmation hearings on newly appointed members Dr. Wayne Wright and Gary Power. The hearings are set for 1 p.m. in the Senate Resources Committee room at the statehouse.
