Bear Seasons Changed

Bear seasons have been changed in four Clearwater Region units, but spring bear hunts in other units remain as detailed in the current big game brochure. The Idaho Fish and Game Commission adopted rule changes recently for hunting black bear in Units 8A, 10, 10A and 16. Beginning April 1, Unit 10 will have a two-bear bag limit for the entire unit. Previously, there was a two-bear limit in only a part of the unit. Units 8A and 10A spring season will be two weeks longer-to run from April 15 through May 31. The use of hounds is prohibited April 15-April 30. The dog training season is June 1-July 31. Baiting is prohibited in these hunts. The Unit 16 spring season will be six weeks longer, running April 15-June 30. The use of hounds is prohibited from April 15-April 30. The dog training season is July 1-July 30.
