Idaho Fish and Game

Annual Trip Auction

idfg-mcoleman
Spend a day and a night tracking and monitoring an active wolf pack in the field with an Idaho Department of Fish and Game wolf biologist, or spend a day in the backcountry to see wild horses, elk, antelope, golden eagles, and other wildlife in their natural settings of the Boulder-White Clouds, Lost River and Salmon River mountain ranges. Anyone interested in such breathtaking nature experiences, awe-inspiring vistas and views, and heart-pounding excitement, will want to participate in the Idaho Fish and Wildlife Foundation 2007 Online Trip Auction. Depending on the conditions and cooperation of wolves, view wolves at a rendezvous site, check a trapline, and possibly help radio collar a live wolf. Learn about wolf biology and recovery, how they are monitored, and experience the habitat where they thrive. If fishing is more your style, how about a full day's wilderness fly fishing adventure on Moose Creek in the Selway Wilderness Area? This incredible trip for two includes an airplane flight into Coeur d'Alene, a day of fly fishing, lunch, and two nights lodging in Coeur d'Alene. Or, maybe you're more of the quiet adventure type. For you, the choice may be a Harlequin duck spotting and river rafting trip, a waterfowl viewing adventure in Hagerman Valley, and a gourmet dinner and boat tour of Thousand Springs on the Snake River. These are just a few of the 22 incredible outdoor adventures-from jet boating and river rafting to bird watching, wolf watching, sturgeon fishing and Snow Peak Mountain backpacking-available in this year's trip auction. Bidding starts at 8 a.m., March 11, and ends at 7 p.m. March 23. Full trip descriptions and step-by-step instructions are available at the bottom of the page at www.ifwf.org. The 17th annual trip auction is the foundation's largest fundraiser with the money raised going to benefit Idaho's wildlife heritage. Proceeds from last year's auction helped hunter education programs and shooting ranges. This event, co-sponsored by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game, attracts hunters and anglers as well as hikers and wildlife watchers.
