After the first controlled hunt drawing in late June or early July, hunters have until August 1 to pick up the controlled hunt tags they drew, but some don’t do it. These unclaimed tags along with controlled hunt tags no one applied for, are offered to hunters again through a second big game controlled hunt drawing.
Here’s how you enter the second controlled hunt draw:
- Idaho Fish and Game will post the remaining tags.
- You will need to submit a controlled hunt application.
- Hunters can apply for these tags from August 5 through August 15, midnight Mountain Time.
- Results of the second drawing will be available around August 22.
Any tags not drawn in the second drawing are sold first-come, first-served on August 25 at 10am Mountain Time.
