Leftover controlled hunt tags available Tuesday, Aug. 25

Over 200 deer tags and 200 elk tags not issued during the recent second controlled hunt drawing for deer, elk, pronghorn and black bear will go on sale first come, first served on Tuesday, Aug. 25 at 10 a.m. Mountain Time.

Lava Point boat ramp on Magic Reservoir to undergo repairs

Long awaited repairs will begin on the Lava Point boat ramp beginning on August 24. Located on the west side of Magic Reservoir, the much needed repairs had to wait until water levels exposed the entire boat launch. The boat launch is currently inaccessible due to extreme low water levels in Magic Reservoir.

F&G Commission approves modified steelhead bag limits for Salmon, Little Salmon and Snake Rivers

During their meeting on Aug. 20, the Idaho Fish and Game Commission approved modifications to the steelhead season in the Salmon, Little Salmon and Snake Rivers for the fall 2020 season, reducing the bag and possession limits to 2 and 6 fish, respectively.

Wood River Valley black bears continue to get food rewards from residential garbage

Sandpoint man wins $1,000 for catching walleye through Angler Incentive Program

Another Idaho angler has won $1,000 in the Lake Pend Oreille walleye lottery. Doug Lambrecht of Sandpoint caught his reward-tagged walleye while fishing shallow weed beds along the northern lakeshore during mid-July. The winning fish was tagged in Feb. 2020 near Fisherman’s Island.
