Forest Service road 290, aka Indian Hill Road, is on the Moose Creek Ranger District

The first two miles of Indian Hill Road are currently closed to all motorized vehicles through September 28 for public health and safety during road construction and repair, according to the Forest Service. Forest officials will monitor the need for further updates to the closure order as roadwork progresses.

The Forest Service released the following information:

Ongoing road construction and repair on Indian Hill Road necessitated an official closure order (Forest Supervisor’s Order 01-17-06-18-008) prohibiting all motorized travel on the road on certain dates to protect public safety during construction activities. The contractor has encountered challenges with the landscape which prolonged these construction activities. Safe travel by the public is not currently possible on the first two miles of Indian Hill Road, requiring an update to the official closure order.

Road conditions, official closure orders, and other information is available on the forest website at www.fs.usda.gov/alerts/nezperceclearwater/alerts-notices. For updates on Indian Hill Road or other locations on the Moose Creek Ranger District, contact Fenn Ranger Station: (208) 926-4258.
