Salmon Fishing Open on Snake and Little Salmon Rivers

Fishing for Chinook salmon is still open in the Snake and Little Salmon rivers. The Little Salmon is open from a posted boundary about fifty yards upstream of the Little Salmon River mouth to the U.S. Highway 95 Bridge near Smokey Boulder Road. The season is only open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays until further notice. Fishing hours are from 5:05 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Mountain Standard Time. The daily limit is four Chinook salmon, only two of which may be adults; the possession limit is 12 Chinook salmon, only six of which may be adults. The statewide season limit is 10 adult Chinook during any 2013 salmon seasons occurring before September 1, 2013. Any adipose-fin-clipped Chinook salmon 24 or more inches in total length is an adult. Jacks are less than 24 inches in length. Only adipose-fin-clipped Chinook may be kept. The existing seven day per week fishery for adult and jack Chinook salmon in the Hells Canyon section of the Snake River will continue until further notice. The daily limit in the Snake River is four salmon per day, only one of which may be an adult, and the possession limit is 12 salmon in possession, no more than three of which may be adults. The statewide season limit is 10 adult Chinook salmon during any salmon seasons occurring before September 1, 2013. The statewide limit does not apply to jacks.
