Idaho Fish and Game

Public Open House Meetings Set In Salmon Region

idfg-nnokkentved
Idaho Fish and Game is seeking public comments on potential big game rule changes for 2009-10 hunting season, potential Chinook salmon fishing seasons for upper Salmon River, and on fishing rule changes. Hunters are asked to comment on a number of changes that are being considered for big game hunting in Salmon Region. In particular, several options for reducing elk harvest in the Pioneer, Salmon and Sawtooth elk zones will be discussed. Anglers are encouraged to provide their comments on potential rule changes for the 2011-12 fishing season. The rules do not include rules addressing seasons, bag limits or size limits. The reason comments are being sought on these rules is they must have legislative authorization. Specifically, the Idaho Fish and Game will be asking for people's opinions on statewide gear restrictions for sturgeon and bull trout. Other comments are welcome. These meetings will be held in conjunction with the Chinook salmon season meeting. Each meeting will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at the following locations:
  • Challis: March 10, US. Forest Service, Conference Room, HWY 93.
  • Salmon: March 11, Idaho Fish and Game Office, 99 Hwy 93 N.
  • Stanley: March 12, Stanley Community Center, City Office. Hwy 21.
Anyone unable to attend a meeting may provide comments by contacting regional personnel at 208-756-2271 or send their information in writing to Idaho Department of Fish and Game, PO Box 1336, Salmon, ID, 83467.
