No Deadline to Claim Tags after Second Draw

Hunters anxiously waiting for the results of the second controlled hunt draw have no worries when it comes to picking up a tag if they are drawn. After the second draw there is no deadline to pick up your tag. You can claim it on the way out of town for your hunt. The results of the second draw will be available by end of business on Friday August 22, and leftover tags will be available on a first come, first served basis beginning Monday August 25 at 10:00 a.m. MDT. The leftover tags are tags for which there was never an applicant. Many hunters who choose general hunts are choosing to increase their opportunity and enjoy some extra time in Idaho's beautiful back country are taking advantage of the reduced price for second tags for deer and elk.
