Native Plant Sale Set for the MK Nature Center

idfg-mcoleman
In celebration of Arbor Day and Native Plant Appreciation Week, the Pahove Chapter of the Idaho Native Plant Society will have its spring native plant sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at the Morrison Knudsen Nature Center in Boise. This year's edition of this popular event will feature several new species of native plants and plenty of time to browse as there will be no waiting line for entering the sale this year! The sale will be in the Formal Back Yard area of the Nature Center, behind the Idaho Fish and Game headquarters building at 600 S. Walnut. In response to the popularity and demand for native plants, the sale offers a wide variety of hardy and often drought tolerant natives. The plants will be arranged by their preferences for sun or shade and signage will detail watering requirements and soil type to make it easy to select species that will survive in the buyer's location. A "members-only" sale for Native Plant Society members will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 27. Nonmembers may become members at the Friday sale and shop that day. Only cash and checks are accepted. For a list of species availability and more information, visit http://www.idahonativeplants.org/.
