Fish and Game Commission to Meet in Riggins This Week

The Idaho Fish and Game Commission will meet Wednesday and Thursday, May 9 and 10, at the Best Western Salmon Rapids Lodge in Riggins. A public hearing will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday, at the Salmon Rapids Lodge. Commissioners will consider proposed seasons for Chinook salmon fishing in the South Fork Salmon and the upper Salmon rivers, and fiscal year 2014 budget direction. They also will elect a commission chairman and vice-chairman. Commissioners also will hear a briefing on auction and lottery tags under changes in state law. And they will consider authorizing auctioning mineral rights held by the Idaho Fish and Game Commission on 386 acres of the Payette Wildlife Management Area.
