Fish and Game Commission to Meet in Boise in January

The Idaho Fish and Game Commission will set seasons for moose, bighorn sheep and mountain goat for 2011 and 2012 during the annual meeting January 26 and 27 in Boise. Commissioners will meet with the Senate Resources and Environment Committee at the Statehouse Wednesday afternoon, January 26, followed by an executive session at about 3:45 p.m. A public hearing will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, at Fish and Game headquarters, 600 S. Walnut, Boise. Thursday morning, January 27, commissioners will set moose, bighorn sheep and mountain goat seasons. Later in the morning commissioners will hear an update on the deer and elk population status, and a briefing on mandatory harvest reports. They also will hear an update on ungulate predation research, consider two land acquisitions, and hear a budget preview. Following lunch, commissioners will hear a legislative update and updates on salmon forecasts and potential seasons in 2011. Times on the agenda are approximate and may change.
