idfg-nnokkentved
Idaho Department of Fish and Game cautions visitors of the Craig Mountain Wildlife Management Area near Lewiston to be aware of increased land management activities planned during the hunting season. Salvage logging will occur on Bureau of Land Management and Fish and Game lands north of Madden Corrals from October 13 through late November. Logging trucks will be hauling logs on open county roads, so motorists are advised to use caution with the increased traffic. The purpose is to salvage burnt trees damaged in the Chimney Complex wildfire and to improve wildlife habitat in forested areas. A helicopter will also be utilized to spray noxious weeds in the Billy Creek and Camp Creek drainages during the week of October 13. The purpose is to reduce noxious weeds in areas previously seeded to grasses after the Chimney Complex wildfire. For more information on these activities, contact Fish and Game at 3316 16th Street in Lewiston, or call 208-799-5010.
