Q. I just purchased a 2009 Idaho fishing license; can I use that to fish to the end of 2008? A. No. To fish in December 2008, you must have a valid 2008 fishing license. The 2009 license is not valid until January 1. But a resident 2008 fishing license is still available for $25.75. A nonresident daily fishing license for $11.50 for the first day and $5 for each additional day, or a three-day license and permit for steelhead for $31.50 are available.
