About the position

The Sawtooth Fish Hatchery is seeking
One (1) Fisheries Biological Aide (non-benefited) to assist with trapping and spawning of steelhead, and rearing of Chinook salmon in Stanley, Idaho. 

Dates Needed: March 10, 2025 through July 11, 2025 (Some flexibility is available with exact start and end dates) 

General Information
With or without reasonable accommodations, incumbents must be able to stand and work in cold water for up to five hours per shift; lift and carry equipment weighing up to 60 pounds; and work in extreme weather conditions. Dormitory style housing is provided free of charge. Incumbents will work 40 hours per week. Work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, although occasional weekend work rotations will be required.
Qualifications
Applicants must be well organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, and safety conscious. Must have a demonstrated ability to handle responsibility and work independently. Patient, friendly personality, and good communication skills are essential. Fisheries related experience and education strongly preferred, but not required. Must be 18 years of age, and have a valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities
Fisheries Biological Aide- Assist in the trapping and spawning of Chinook salmon; perform routine fish culture duties, including feeding fish, weighing out fish feed, cleaning and caring for fish rearing vessels; maintain grounds and equipment; clean office and hatchery facilities; interact with the public in a professional and positive manner.
