About the position

The Sawtooth Fish Hatchery is seeking one (1) Fisheries Biological Aide (benefited) to assist with trapping, spawning, and rearing of steelhead trout and Chinook salmon in Stanley. 
Dates Needed: March 10, 2025 through November 14, 2025. (some flexibility is available with exact start and end dates) 

General Information
With or without reasonable accommodations, incumbents must be able to stand and work in cold water for up to five hours per shift, lift and carry equipment weighing up to 60 pounds, and work in extreme weather conditions. Dormitory style housing is provided free of charge.

Incumbents will work 40 hours per week. Work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Occasional weekend and holiday rotations will also be required.
Qualifications
Applicants must be able to work independently and follow set protocols. Applicants must be well organized, detail oriented, self-­motivated, and safety conscious. Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license. Fisheries related experience and education strongly preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
Assist with trapping, spawning, and rearing of steelhead trout and Chinook salmon at the Sawtooth Fish Hatchery. Preform routine fish culture tasks, including feeding fish, cleaning and caring for fish rearing vessels, and maintaining grounds and equipment. Interact with the public in a professional and positive manner and assist with hatchery tours.
