Barbless hooks not required in the Boise River. A rainbow trout longer than 20 inches that lacks an adipose fin is considered a steelhead.
Special Restrictions
Steelhead are sometimes stocked at several locations from Glenwood Bridge to Barber Dam, and encountering steelhead in the lower sections on the Boise River below Star, ID is possible, but uncommon.
