Idaho Department of Fish and Game releases some beavers in Cottonwood Creek in the South Hills after they had gotten in trouble in the valley below.
IDFG routinely receives phone calls from landowners regarding beavers causing damage to private property. In most cases, beaver have chewed the trunks of trees or eaten the foliage of landscaping plants.
Protecting plants with fencing material can often deter future damage. However, in some cases, fencing does not work and IDFG will attempt to live-trap offending beavers and relocate them to suitable areas where they are less likely to create further conflict.
