Hunter Education instructors receive top honors

Volunteer Hunter Education Instructors are the backbone of the Hunter Education Program. We have developed an incentive awards program to reward their efforts with the classes they teach, mentoring of new instructors and all other direct support they give the hunter education program. This year two instructors reached our highest award level in our incentive awards program. Scott Claiborn and Darin Wilson have reached over 3500 points.

Scott started teaching in 1997, since then Scott has taught over 31 classes in the Twin Falls area and certified over 776 students. He has helped recruit and mentored dozens of new instructors including myself. Scott has helped teach our new instructor training workshops, helped with our hunting skills workshops and in a local 4H leader in our community. He continues to mentor the youth in not only shooting skills but also hunting skills.

Since 2004, Darin has taught 43 classes in the Minidoka area and certified 1091 students. He has helped recruit numerous new instructors and team-teach with many over the past 13 years.

We want to recognize all the time and effort Scott and Darin have contributed to the Magic Valley area and to the Hunter Education Program.
