A cat in Elmore county is recovering from plague. It had come into contact with flea-infested ground squirrels before becoming ill. This is the second plague finding in Idaho in 2018 after a child was found to be infected earlier in June.
As of this posting, no large scale die-offs have been detected in rodents in the presumed plague area.
