OAKLEY - Idaho Department of Fish & Game (IDFG) with the help of Wildlife Services shot a young female mountain lion north of Oakley, Idaho Saturday night.

Two young mountain lions had been involved over the past week in killing several domestic cats and one dog in people’s yards.

Fish and Game conservation officers have a live trap set in the area in hopes of capturing the remaining lion.

People in the area are asked to stay away from the trap and report mountain lion sightings, by calling 208-324-4359.

Mountain lions that are posing an immediate threat to a person or property may be killed in self-defense without a license or tag.
