Fishing effort for the fall Chinook fishery picked up this week in the confluence (river sect. 01) and mouth to Memorial Bridge (river sect. 03/Mouth to Memorial Bridge). Catch rates were poor in both sections and we did not document any Chinook harvested in the Clearwater section.
The catch and keep section of the Clearwater for steelhead had the best catch rates but we only documented 8 fish caught. We are also starting to see more anglers move up the Clearwater in the catch and release section but most of the effort is still focused down around Lewiston.
Water temperatures are starting to drop so we should start seeing more anglers moving up the Snake River. Check steelhead and Chinook Harvest Reports for more details. - Jaime Robertson, Clearwater Region Senior Fisheries Technician
