Mile Marker 14 Fire Continues to Burn on a Portion of Boise River WMA

Anonymous (not verified)

The fire began Tuesday afternoon near Hilltop Summit on State Highway 21. Afternoon winds quickly helped the fire expand to several hundred acres.Photo

The fire has grown to an estimated 3,500+ acres and remains un-contained. For these and other reasons, Fish and Game is asking the public to stay out of the burned area. "As with the earlier Table Rock Fire, we will be assessing the damage from the Mile Marker 14 Fire in the weeks ahead," Fish and Game wildlife biologist Krista Muller said. "As things progress, we'll be providing updates on the website."Photo

The Mile Marker 14 Fire has burned through mixed stands of sagebrush and bitterbrush; "some of the best habitat left on the WMA," Muller noted. Photo
