The Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG) will be distributing bitterbrush and sage brush seedlings to landowners impacted by the Charlotte fire last June. IDFG will distribute these seedlings on Saturday April 6th at the Mink Creek Fire station from 9am to 2pm. IDFG staff will be on hand to explain planting directions and answer any questions people may have.
Ideal locations for these shrubs are hillsides and draws that were previous vegetated with native range plants. IDFG staff discourages these plants from being used as yard ornamentals that would draw wildlife too close to residences. Landowners with lots greater than one acre are preferred.
