Ask Fish and Game: Motorized vehicles and hunting

Q: I plan to hunt mule deer in southern Idaho for the first time this fall, and I understand the unit I intend to hunt in falls under the motorized hunt rule. Where can I learn more? A: Hunters should be aware that thirty hunting units in Idaho fall under the motorized hunting rule. The rule applies to people hunting big game animals, including moose, bighorn sheep and mountain goats, in designated units from August 30 through December 31.
