idfg-mdemick
Idaho Fish and Game is asking the public for information regarding the illegal shooting of an adult doe mule deer near Lucky Peak Reservoir east of Boise. Citizens Against Poaching is offering a reward for information in the case and callers may remain anonymous. Contact CAP at 1-800-632-5999, 24 hours a day. The mule deer was discovered in Lydle Gulch south of Lucky Peak dam, and was thought to have been shot on Wednesday, April 8. The doe was likely pregnant, and the entire carcass was left to waste. There is no open hunting season for deer in Idaho this time of year. Fish and Game Conservation Officer Brian Flatter hopes to learn more from an eyewitness or others who have knowledge of the crime. "The area is very popular with recreationists and we're hoping someone heard a shot or observed something suspicious," Flatter said. "We need their help solving this crime." In addition to the CAP hotline, persons may also contact their local Fish and Game office with information regarding the case. In the local area, contact the Nampa Fish and Game office at 208-465-8465 weekdays and Idaho State Police at 208-846-7550 on weekends.
