Hunters wishing to participate in spring hunts for black bear in Idaho can begin applying January 15. Applications for spring turkey begin February 1.
This year, children as young as ten years old can participate in these hunts. Anyone nine years old or older may purchase a license and apply for a tag, but must be at least ten years old to participate in a hunt.
To apply for a controlled hunt, residents and nonresidents must have a valid Idaho hunting license. Applications are available at any license vendor, Fish and Game office or with a credit card by calling: 1-800-554-8685. You can also purchase online at http://fishandgame.idaho.gov/public/licenses/?getPage=86
The applications can also be mailed, with the proper fees, to any Fish and Game office.
