Went to town of North Fork, then turned onto Salmon River Road. Drove west along the road for three or four miles, then saw a small bear on the road about 75 yards ahead. Snapped a few pictures before it slipped into the brush along the road. Drove up to where it had been and halted the car, but never saw it again. This was about 5:30 in the afternoon on Aug. 23.
