Ran across the road infront of us, then stopped by a tree right off the road to sit and look at us. Was a young bear, observed it for 2 mins or so but did not see or hear the mother. The bear looked healthy but smidge thin. It had brown fur, with lighter tipped fur along its shoulders/back. The road is along the south fork of the salmon river off warm lake road headed towards yellow pine by mile maker 23 or so.
