Abstract:

HDR biologist, Mike Perkins, conducted a survey for Ute ladies’-tresses (ULT), Spiranthes diluvialis, on August 6, 2014 in the project area for the replacement of the Ora Bridge over the Henry’s Fork River (about 3 miles west of Ashton, Idaho). HDR performed this survey in accordance with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife (USFWS) survey protocol for this species and covered the same survey area as the ULT survey HDR performed in 2012. All potentially suitable habitats were surveyed. <br> As with the 2012 survey, ULT was found only in a specific micro-habitat within a wetland complex adjacent to but not directly connected to the river. A total of five groupings of 26 plants were found during the 2014 survey.
