Abstract:

This bulletin documents mostly small, but also a few larger, mammals, including bats, observed or trapped at the Nevada Nuclear Test Site over a five-year period. Information is also presented about where the mammals live and when they are active. Information about vegetation and spatial and seasonal distributions of the animals is included, as well as observations and discussion about animals' daily activities, diel cycles, hourly fluctuations, individual activity, and movements. The study was designed to furnish basic information about small mammals on the site, information believed to be essential to evaluating the effects of nuclear testing and other nuclear activities.
