Abstract:

The Service issues an updated notice of vascular plant taxa native to the United States that are being reviewed for possible addition to the List of Endangered and Threatened Plants under the Endangered Species Act of 1973, as amended. Changes from previous notices primarily involve additions of taxa to and deletions of taxa from active consideration, changes in category for candidate taxa, and additions and deletions in State distributions. While it is prudent to take candidate taxa into account in environmental planning, none of the substantive or procedural provisions of the Act apply to a species that is designated as a candidate for listing.
