The Columbia Plateau Ecoregion in the United States only occurs in portions of three states: Oregon, Washington and Idaho. There are 14 species found here in nine genera and two families (Lumbricidae and Megascolecidae). Three of the species are considered native (endemic) to North America (Argilophilus hammondi, Drilocheira chenowithensis and Driloleirus americanus), all the rest are European introductions (exotics). A description of the ecoregion and six color photographs are also included.
