Abstract:

The field work for this report on the status of kangaroo mice in Idaho was conducted in the southwestern portion of the state, primarily in Owyhee and Twin Falls counties. Objectives were to 1) evaluate the distribution and conservation status of Microdipodops in Idaho; 2) evaluate the population genetics, molecular phylogenetics, and molecular ecology of Idahoan populations of Microdipodops; and 3) document the occurrence and conservation status of Perognathus longimembris during the course of normal field research on kangaroo mice in Idaho.
